INFINITE SKETCH EXHIBITION

Brooklyn Art Library

Brooklyn, NY

May 11, 2019

10am - 5pm

Over 500 artists from all over the world submitted sketches, each one based on an assigned word, for a project with the theme, "Cosmos and Connections." The drawings will be linked together (those lines on both sides of the sketch are used for that purpose), and displayed as one long piece of art. My word was, "express." There also will be an online exhibition soon.

THE CANVAS PROJECT
Brooklyn Art Library
Brooklyn, NY

February 22 - 24, 2019

Reception: Feb 22nd, 6 – 10pm

The Canvas Project is a community art project created by the Brooklyn Art Library. Participants of all ages and from all over the globe were sent a 4x4 inch blank canvas and an interesting or unusual  word  prompt to inspire their creation. The words were crowd-sourced from the BAL arts community. My word: "Cowabunga!" All of the canvases were digitized and compiled into "A Visual Encyclopedia." The encyclopedia is 184 pages, featuring over 1100 visual interpretations of words. The book is filled with inspiration, humor, and global perspectives. You can order one here. After the show, the original canvases will be swapped among the participants, with a BAL librarian making the choices for the exchanges.
